Best of 2009

So in the beginning of 2009 I set a goal for myself of reading 25 books. This came from reading that Tony Robbins and Robin Sharma regularly read more than 50 books per year. I thought I should at least be able to do half. I must tell you, I really feel it has made a big difference in my learning quotient. I feel much more informed, enlightened, creative and have a tonne of Cliff Claven quirky facts to share.
So the tally is in…27 books in 2009.
Now I will be the first to tell you that I’m a slow reader so I try and get as many of these books as I can through Itunes and audio CD. This really helps me power through with the extra time I have on the subway in the morning, while I am twittling my thumbs.
So here are my best of 2009 recommendations (and those who recommended):
What would Google Do? Jeff Jarvis – Social Media, technology and new age thinking, great for entrepreneurs.
-Thanks John
Seven Summits by Bass and Wells – For anyone interested in stretching their boundaries and reading a biography on an amazing adventure.
-Thanks Dave
Three Cups of Tea – Greg Mortenson – Mountain Climber near disaster turned into philanthropist building schools in Pakistan. Heart Warming.
-Thanks Emily
Three Laws of Performance – Zephron and Logan – A concise compilation on how to get the best of yourself and employees, from years of research, with detailed real life case studies.
-Thanks Elisa
To the benefit of all, please share one or two of your best or recommendations for this past year through comments or directly to cnanka@salesforce.com and I will post.
